‘Everybody Knows’ cover artwork commissioned by Myles McCormack

I had the pleasure of working alongside my friend Myles to create a special digital cover for his new single release, ‘Everybody Knows’. My interest in joining traditional Irish and folk sessions stemmed from meeting musicians like Myles and hearing songs such as this played live in sessions in Belfast pubs - Listen below!
The image was based on an existing painting of mine called ‘Retirement’ (below). For the cover, we wanted something more relaxed, rougher, and less polished than a finished painting, playing into the mood of the song and the session recording style. Keeping the colours limited helps convey the strength of the imagery and narrative. Below are some examples of early-stage and developmental ideas that shaped the final outcome.
